GLWR does not ship dogs, but if you are willing to travel to the state or region a dog is fostered in to meet them, then you are welcome to apply for adoption. With the increased cost of travel, GLWR will do what we can to make it easy for potential adopters to meet dogs.

"WHAT ABOUT BOB???" Well, Bob is awesome that's what! Bob is a handsome fella with a unique and goofy personality. He came to GLWR from a shelter where he was initially picked up as a stray and unclaimed. Imagine that - and such a fine looking fella too! Bob is an easy going guy that would love to have his own forever home. Like the movie character played by Bill Murray, Bob would really like to have a nice house where he has friends and family to hang out with and chill. He had a bit of anxiety when he first arrived and could be a it vocal but he has settled into the routine now and is more about loving and lounging. A decent energy level Bob loves people and hanging with the other dogs. Friendly and social he likes to sniff around the yard and keep track of what is going on. While he is a mild manner boy with no food or other issues he can be a bit jumpy at times when he gets excited to see you and so we are not suggesting a home with small children for Bob's home residence. Vistor's are fine with adult supervision. A retiree or semi-retiree that wants a cool companion to chill with would be a great fit for Bob. "SO WHAT ABOUT YOU?" Are you maybe the one to give Bob the "baby step" home therapy that he needs? If so, let's hear from you! Bob is currently being fostered in Elora, ON.

9 yrs young, Buck has a cheerful and jolly disposition. Always happy to see you. He is a typical velcro weim and will follow you to the end of earth just to be with you. Buck insists upon deep ear rubs at least 4x daily and it is the least a person can do for such a sweet soul. If anyone is in need of a cuddle, Buck is happy to oblige. In fact, he would insist. Play time includes chasing/being chased by his foster weim brother. Nine yrs old? He keeps up with a 4 yr old with only a few rest breaks! He will occasionally jump when excited but is easily restrained with gentle verbal commands. Buck is great with kids 6+. Based on his reaction to the neighborhood community cats that pass by and squirrels, rabbits…we have concluded that he has a healthy prey drive. Buck came in with his sister Kona. However, as long as Buck has another playmate that can keep up with him he will be happy. Preferably another male companion. Buck is currently fostered in the Fort Wayne IN area.

Hazel is a lovely 5 year old blue girl. Her life did not start out well. For her first four years Hazel was chained to a dilapidated dog house in a back yard in Ohio. She was found by animal control when she got loose and was running as a stray. When AC found her owner and saw her living conditions they seized her and took her to the local animal control where she was then transferred to GLWR. Hazel is a loving, caring gal who would love to find a home with another calm older dog (preferably a neutral male) and a family that has time to spend with her. Hazel was initially adopted to a great family but their home circumstances changed and Hazel was brought back into GLWR. She is currently residing in a foster home with two weim foster sisters and has done great. Hazel loves to travel and would benefit from someone who is looking for a companion that just wants a nice walking companion for short walks. She also would benefit for being a full companion to someone or be in a home with another dog. You see, Hazel has exhibited some mild anxiety when left all alone. We believe due to her past she is fearful of being left alone and behind. We did learn that Hazel does have a good prey drive so cats or other small animals in the home is not a good fit for her. Hazel has come such a long way since coming to GLWR and is a happy girl and overall healthy. She is ready to find a loving, forever home to spend her days in. Due to her condition a best fit home would be one with no or limited stairways and carpeting over all wood so slippery floors. Hazel is currently being fostered in Madison WI. If you feel you could be a good fit for Hazel and can provide her with a comfortable loving home than let us know.

Meet Kallie - a small semi-petite silver weim gal. Kallie is currently fostered with several other weims ranging from under a year to a senior. Overall she gets along well with everyone but she prefers her people over anything else. She loves to cuddle on you and nap if you are resting on the couch. She does well with another dog as long as the other dog in not dominant. She free roms her foster home and does great when left with ehr canine companion. Happy to see you when you get home she will dance and prance to show you how pleased she si to see you. You would not think it as she is a relatively small package but this girl can outrun the big boys when out in the big yard. Faster than the speed of light she flys! She also has a great nose and will hunt and burrow in the snow (look at her pics) to sniff our whatever may be in there! We are looking for an adult only home (children visiting is okay) as she can be nervous around new people at first. She also really bonds to her human and can be unwilling to share her pace with them making her unsuitable for a home that has children living there. She loves to ride in the car and travel and although we have not had her near water we bet she will not mind diving in - especially if she is following you! If you are looking for a dedicated loving companion and can provide the right environment for her Kallie may be the girl for you. kallie is currently being fostered in West Olive, MI.

Kayla came to GLWR with her two siblings - Rylie and Silverstone. The three pups were seized by Animal Control when they were found to be living in an unsuitable outdoor environment. Kayla needs to be brought into a home and worked with for potty training and acclimation the same as you would a new pup. She did not grow up n a home and was kept as a backyard pen dog. We do not consider her 100% housebroken at this time and will need an adopter committed to working with her. She is the larger of the two females and the most outgoing of the the three. For being BYBR dogs she and her siblings are friendly and social and love to play and run. She can be shy at first but once she knows you she will run right up to you for attention. Fast and furious in play she is like liquid lightning out in the field when she runs! Due to her por start in life we are seeking a home with another weim that can help her learn the "ropes' of being a companion in home dog. She is very bright and learns quickly and we are confident she will acclimate to a in home routine in no time. If you feel that you can provide the type of home that Kayla needs she will make a great new family companion for you. She is currently being fostered in Grand Haven, MI.

11 year old Kona, aka “Tiny Weimie”, is a bit of a spitfire for such a wisp of a dog. She has what some would call a “colic” on the nape of her neck. In our opinion, she either has the underdeveloped mane of a unicorn or a tiny punk rock mohawk. Given her feisty nature, we are going with punk rock. While she is a professional snuggler when the household is quiet, she can be nervous with too much activity. While Ole 9her foster brother) respects Kona’s space and is gentle with her, Buck (her longtime weim brother and companion) tends to be too amorous with her causing her distress. While initially we were targeting her being placed with her brother Buck their foster Mom feels she would do best either as an only dog or with a less enthusiastic dog. Kona will follow you room to room and observe from the periphery but the second you sit down, she will be in your lap. Kona does well with older kids who understand that she prefers calm and quiet time. She will cuddle with anyone, big or small, if they are willing to devote their undivided attention. Kona is currently being fostered in the Fort Wayne IN area.

Marlie is a petite lovey 12 month old girl. She was surrendered to rescue due to her family not having an adequate environment for her. Like any young weim Marlie requires significant daily exercise for both mind and body. A brilliant girl she learns quickly and wants to please. She loves to fetch sticks and enjoys play time outside. She is fast and needs to have an outlet to run and play. A home with another dog will be required for Marlie. She needs a canine companion to keep her company and to help teach her. She free roams at her foster home with her foster siblings and has never been a problem. Marlie is very affectionate and loves to snuggle and cuddle and will even be your best bathroom buddy! Marlie will make and active adopter a great companion and will provide love, affection and loyalty for many years to come! Marlie is currently fostered in West Olive, MI and is available for meet and greets with pre-screened approved adopters. If you think you just might be the lucky family to adopt Marlie please contact us at GLWR.

Silverstone came to GLWR with his two siblings - Kayla and Riley. The three pups were seized by Animal Control when they were found to be living in an unsuitable outdoor environment. We do not consider him 100% housebroken at this time and will need an adopter committed to working with him. He is small for a male weim and will likely be under 65lbs. once he matures. He was the most outgoing of the three and was warm and friendly with us from the get go. Less shy and more willing to explore than his sisters he was the leader of their pack! He has a lot of personality and likes to be near you and follow you. Not your typical BYBR type dogs he and his siblings are friendly and social and love to play and run. he He will come right to you for pets and attention. Fast and furious in play he like his sisters can run with the big dogs! He loves the freedom of running in the yard. My name is Thor and I am a beautiful, soon to be 4-year-old male that is as sweet as they come! I came to GLWR when I was 5 months old with an inherited congenital birth defect called Myelodysplasia (spinal dysraphism), which is nothing more than an incomplete formation of the neural tube (spinal cord) from some abnormality in my genetic makeup. Some of my neural pathways are incomplete and so I can have some sensory challenges. It is a non-degenerative albeit permanent condition that will not worsen and I am not in any pain. I do not take any medication but I do benefit from occasional chiropractic adjustments and have also has some acupuncture therapy that has been helpful in the past. I have progressed to full autonomy and far exceeded everyone's expectations for my mobility. I do tend to tire prematurely when I play but I do LOVE to play with balls, sticks and my canine friends in a game of chase in the yard. Staying in a routine helps me with my potty breaks and with a standard household routine I live a pretty normal life! an. Outside of that I am a well socialized and happy and a typical young weim. I will always be a special needs dog and will require regular, long-term homeopathic vet care. My adopters must commit to financially supporting my medical needs (chiropractic mostly), in addition to meeting my daily needs, which include specific potty duties and sometimes washing. If you can help keep a routine my maintenance is pretty normal! In return, I promise to love and cherish you with all of my great big Weimy heart! I need baby gates in front of all the steps except for the ones to get outside because, in general, stairs are difficult for me as they require coordination that sometimes is difficult when going up and down. My foster family has worked very hard with me, investing time, patience, and love to build my strength. The results have been nothing short of a miracle. Some more things about me...I like to go for walks and can go up to three miles. I also love walks on the beach or in the woods. When I get tired, I begin to hop. I am crate trained and that is where I am when my foster parents go to work, but I am let out once during the day. I would love to find someone who works from home, is semi- or retired, or has a capable, responsible dog walker because three to four hours is my maximum crate time. My favorite thing in the world is a nasty looking soccer ball. I love playing chase with that ball. After potty and exercise time I like to hang out with my foster family and watch TV, just like any other Weim! I have not been able to get on the couch, but I love when someone comes to sit on the floor with me. I have a never ending appreciation for the care and attention that I get that helps me live a great dog life. I get along great with kids and other dogs. I would not do well in a home with stairs or hardwood, laminate or tiled floors. I really need a home with as much carpet as possible. If you think your heart and home has room for a sweet, lovable boy, please contact GLWR. I would love to find my forever family!
