Regional chapters:

GLWR does not ship dogs, but if you are willing to travel to the state or region a dog is fostered in to meet them, then you are welcome to apply for adoption. With the increased cost of travel, GLWR will do what we can to make it easy for potential adopters to meet dogs.

Good day - my name is Austin - I am a sweet ole boy with lots of love to give. I am quiet, friendly and social with other dogs. Doc said that I am in good shape for my age and am doing well. My previous family said that I did not do well with cats though and liked to hunt the yard critters. I have a bit of a "Walter Matthau" personality until you get to know me - a bit stubborn and pig headed sometimes but ultimately just a friend and buddy who wants to hang out with you. I have a special pillow that I love to snuggle with a night - there is no such thing as being to old for a snuggle pillow! I would love to meet you and chat a bit to see if I might want to come home with you. How about completing the application at GLWR and let's hang for a bit and see if you and I may want to chill. Hello my name is Bella. I am a happy go lucky 10 year old senior girl that is looking for my forever home. I was adopted by a wonderful fella and moved to Wisconsin to spend my days walking in the woos an enjoying the lake. Sadly, my new Dad passed away an I found myself without a home again. I am a great girl with no major health issues (some lumps an bumps) and I would love to just be with a family to call my own. I an still energetic and get around with no problems and although I am social with other dogs I would prefer to be in a home by myself so I can enjoy the company of my people. I am also not fond of cats so best not have any in the house either. I will be happy to keep the yard free of chippies an squirrels for you though! I am housebroken not destructive. I can be left alone to free roam the house while you are away. I also like to snuggle and cuddle with you. If has been a rough year for me so far so if you are looking for a great new companion please get a hold of GLWR and let's meet. you will not be disappointed! Hello! My name is Lucca and I am a very sweet 11-year-old female who is looking for what I once had … a home and a family to love me and call my own! I enjoy going for walks, on car rides and playing fetch in the yard. I have a bit of a protective nature, so a home with small kids would not be a good fit for me. I am crate trained, but if you have a fenced yard and a dog door, I am good free roaming too! I get along with other dogs, but can be a little bossy sometimes. I would love to find a home where I get lots of attention and daily exercise. And while I am a senior, I would still do be in a home with a strong, but loving owner.

Hello! My name is Sterlyn and I am a BIG, TALL, 8-year-old boy! Surprisingly, for my size, I am very calm, quiet and I rarely bark. I am VERY food driven though and while I do not guard against humans, I likely would with another dog. I am fine with other dogs in general, but I need to be fed separately. I am a very happy, gentle giant with a little arthritis in my left hock from an old injury when I was hit by a car, but it does not slow me down. I am crate trained, but due to my size, I am much happier free roaming. I am a good boy, very clean and I do not chew or soil anything. I am probably better off in a cat-free home, but I have a low prey drive and may be OK once I get to know the cat. I am a very social boy with other dogs, but I like to avoid confrontation whenever possible with the younger Weims. I have a slight seasonal allergy that can be managed with a little Benadryl and I have recently developed diabetes, which is managed with insulin at $25 a month. So what do you think? Are you interested in bringing home a big lug of a Weim who would love to have a soft place to lay his bones at night?

My name is Thor and I am a beautiful, 2-year-old male that is as sweet as they come! I came to GLWR with a disability in my hips and legs from a past trauma to my pelvis that went untreated. As a result of that injury, I have some lasting neurological damage. Other than that, I am a sweet, adorable Weim. I will always be a special needs dog and will require regular, long-term homeopathic vet care. My adopters must commit to financially supporting my medical needs, in addition to meeting my daily needs, which include specific potty duties and washing. And in return, I promise to love and cherish you with all of my great big Weimy heart! I need baby gates in front of all the steps except for the ones to get outside because, in general, stairs are difficult for me. My foster family has worked very hard with me, investing time, patience, and love to build my strength. The results have been nothing short of a miracle. I like to go for walks and can go up to three miles. I also love walks on the beach or in the woods. When I get tired, I begin to hop. I am create trained and that is where I am when my foster parents go to work, but I am let out once during the day. I would love to find someone who works from home, is semi- or retired, or has a capable, responsible dog walker because three to four hours is my maximum crate time. My favorite thing in the world is a nasty looking soccer ball. I love playing chase with that ball. After potty and exercise time I like to hang out with my foster family and watch TV, just like any other Weim! I have not been able to get on the couch, but I love when someone comes to sit on the floor with me. I have a never ending appreciation for the care and attention that I get that helps me live a great dog life. I get along great with kids and other dogs. I would not do well in a home with stairs or hardwood, laminate or tiled floors. I really need a home with as much carpet as possible. If you think your heart and home has room for a sweet, lovable boy, please contact GLWR. I would love to find my forever family!
